Health and Fitness Tips – We All Could Use a Little Help – Health and Fitness

Through the consistent use of the following health and fitness tips hopefully I can aid you, even if just a little bit, to stay on track with your health and fitness goals. To remain fit and healthy is never an easy thing but by utilizing these tips hopefully you will remain accountable to yourself. We all know that when we start down a path to regaining our health, that the path is riddled with detours and it is easy to get off track. So to stay on track I recommend some sort of tracking system. I know that recording your stats seems like a tedious thing to do but, if you do not know where you have been how do you know where you are going? In the past I have used a simple spreadsheet for recording my daily weight, workout routine, and all the meals and calories that were consumed. In addition I added charts that utilized the data that was input into the sheets to use as a visual aid to make sure that I am trending in the direction of my health and fitness goals. You can do this even if you do not have a computer or do not know how to make a spreadsheet. Simply use a notebook and some graph paper. It is amazing how a simple graph can reveal habits that otherwise would have remained undetected. For instance, I found that without fail I would eat healthy meals in my target calorie allotment for 7-10 days and then I would binge and consume enough calories for 2 days in one sitting. After discovering this trend it was easily corrected by increasing my daily calorie intake just a little bit, so I did not feel the need to “pig out” once a week. The next health and fitness tip is to set realistic goals and to put them in writing. I think that it is very important to put into writing what you would like to accomplish. You should write down your goal in your own handwriting and post it in at least 3 different places so that you will see it throughout your day. This serves as a gentle reminder and will help aid as a deterrent for neglecting your plan. When stating your goal start out with a short timeline, attain that goal and write out the next one for a lengthier period. Your goal should be measurable and attainable. This is when you need to be honest with yourself and set realistic goals but be careful not to be too easy on yourself. The last health and fitness tip is to run away from processed foods like the plague. Somebody once said that staying fit is 90% nutrition and 10% exercise. Think about it for a second. Most people eat 3-4 times a day and when you contrast that to how much we exercise it does make some sense. So my tip is to make the eating thing easier on you by simply staying away from processed and packaged foods. Choose healthful foods instead. Once you get into the habit of making your own meals with preferably organic, naturally raised and grown whole foods, you will find that it does not take much time at all. By eating these types of foods you will probably be eating healthier than you usually do. Keep in mind that portion size is a big thing also. In time you would not even crave those bad foods anymore.Hopefully these few tips will help you to stay on track with your plan. Good luck and be healthy.

Review of Insanity and Your Health and Fitness – Health and Fitness

We are creatures of habit. It is comfortable to do the same thing over and over again. Even with our health and fitness, most people will have the same habit of going on a treadmill for 30 minutes, or walking for an hour, or doing the some other familiar exercise over and over again. They could do this for years and have little or no results. This is insane. Insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting different results. It is great to be persistent and consistent. It is not okay to be stubbornly unproductive. For many years, I would walk for an hour and be happy that I got a “workout” in. Walking is a great starter exercise program. You should escalate your walking into jogging, running, or even sprinting. You will find that you can get more results in a shorter amount of time when you increase your intensity. In addition, you will provide much needed care to your joints such as your knees and ankles when you vary the intensity and movement in a shorter duration of time. By constantly doing the same motion to your body for a long period, you can cause excessive wear and tear on your joints. It would be like dripping water on a rock- eventually the dripping water will erode the solid rock. You will need to add spice and variety to your exercises. Most people like to add more time in doing the same exercises. You have to shift your thinking to vary your exercises and intensity- not doing the exercises longer.Sprinting is a great exercise for your health and fitness. You can try sprinting for 20 seconds and resting for 10 seconds for about 8-10 times. This is a great fat burning workout. Also, you can try body weight exercises such as push-ups, lunges, squats, and a multitude of others to give your workout a spice of variety.Check out my site and see other innovative ways and routines to benefit your health and fitness.

Lose Weight and Get Fit – Have Faith in Yourself and Achieve Your Health and Fitness Goals – Health and Fitness

We need to talk about those health and fitness promises we make to ourselves. We all make them, many of us in the beginning of the year or before ‘beach’ season. Yet in the end most people have tossed their resolution to the side, it has been abandoned for one reason or another. Although it may have been abandoned, I’ll bet it is still fresh enough to have not been forgotten. Inside you are still wishing that you were on your way to accomplishing those fitness goals that you set out to achieve, aren’t you? Probably, you are hoping to get back on track. What if I told you that ‘wishing’ and ‘hoping’ are part of the problem? In my business I often hear people say that they ‘wish’ they were in better shape, or that ‘hopefully’ they will lose some weight. These are passive words, they don’t get you anywhere and wishing and hoping have no place in goal setting. Does that sound harsh? Sorry, but it is true. To wish or hope for something implies that no action will be applied to the cause; wishing and hoping are just thoughts that take place in your mind. When it comes to health and fitness goals, action is what is needed. Instead of wishing for things to be different, make a plan for action and have faith that it will work, really believe it.Let’s think about it, if we have some weight to lose, for example, we know that we need to move more and eat less and we know that works, undoubtedly, every time. You can have faith in that, you do your part and you will be rewarded. But idly standing by and wishing for weight loss when you aren’t working out like you should and you aren’t eating like you should gets you nowhere. So that is why I like to have faith, instead of hope, because you have faith in what you are doing, faith requires you to do your part.I don’t like the whole new years resolution thing; it is an artificial motivator. Those of you who have made and broke these resolutions over and over again know what I mean. Each time it happens, I think you have less chance of wanting to try again. You feel it is a losing battle because it never sticks and with each time, you feel more and more like a failure.Listen, you never know when the time will come for everything to ‘click’ for you. Past performance does not have to be indicative of the future. Shift your perspective; make your plan (and be sure to make it a workable plan) and just start, that’s it, just start. Have faith that if you workout, for example, four times a week and make healthy dietary changes that it will work. Dig down deep within yourself and find that place, acknowledge that urge that you have to improve your health and fitness level.I guess I’m suggesting some mental exercise here because it is our mind that controls how we feel and react to what we are doing. Your mind can tell you that you can’t or your mind can tell you that you can. The choice is yours. So right now, today, make a workable plan and follow it, believe in it and just do it, cast away your doubts; do more than just wish and make it happen. It’s up to you, only you can decide to do it, why not today?
